June 2025 — Zambia:
In a powerful display of faith and unity, thousands of members of the Pentecostal Holiness Church (PHC) Zambia gathered in different towns and districts across the country to celebrate Pentecostal Sunday, marked by a grand worship event known as Big Sunday.
From Lusaka to Chipata, Kabwe to Mongu, and everywhere in between, PHC churches held simultaneous services filled with vibrant worship, heartfelt prayer, and dynamic preaching under the theme: “Empowered by the Holy Spirit for the Harvest”.
A Nationwide Gathering of Believers
Pentecostal Sunday is a sacred day on the church calendar, commemorating the outpouring of the Holy Spirit as described in Acts 2. For PHC Zambia, Big Sunday is more than a service—it is a spiritual convocation, a time when congregations pause to reflect, rededicate, and realign with the mission of evangelism, revival, and holiness.
In many locations, churches hired larger venues—open fields, school halls, and community grounds—to accommodate the overflow of members, friends, and first-time visitors. Choirs led praise in multiple languages, dance teams ministered, and pastors delivered Holy Spirit-inspired messages calling for personal renewal and community transformation.
